What we collect
Depending on how you use the site:
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Accounts: if you sign up, your name and email (via Firebase Authentication), and content you create.
- Submissions: articles, artwork, and volunteer-hour records you submit, including any files you upload.
- Donations: your email for a receipt. Card payments are handled by PayPal; we never see or store your card details.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs needed to run and secure the site.
How we use it
To run the programs you asked for: send the newsletter, publish reviewed submissions, verify volunteer hours, process donations, and keep the site working and safe. That's it.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage) and PayPal (payments). They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels.
Children & teens
NHA serves a youth audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with COPPA. If you're under 13, please don't create an account without a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 gave us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, request a copy or deletion of your data, or delete your account by emailing us. We honor applicable privacy rights (including CCPA where it applies).

This site is for education and advocacy. It is not medical advice and not a crisis service. Please don't share detailed crisis information through forms here; use 988 or 911.
