President's Volunteer
Service Award (PVSA)
Neuro Health Alliance is proud to offer the President's Volunteer Service Award program to recognize and honor volunteers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to serving their community.
Who is eligible?
All Neuro Health Alliance (NHA) mentors and volunteers, as well as non-NHA volunteers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to improving mental health, and have documented volunteer service hours between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, are eligible to participate.
How many hours do I need to volunteer?
The PVSA has three award levels, each with a different hourly requirement depending on age group:​​​​​

Kids (5-10) | 26 - 49 | 50 - 74 | 75 + |
Teens (11-15) | 50 - 74 | 75 - 99 | 100 + |
Young Adults (16-25) | 100 - 174 | 175 - 249 | 250 + |
Adults (26 and older) | 100 - 249 | 250 - 499 | 500 + |

Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award Packages will be available through NHA in conjunction with the PVSA. The award package includes a certificate and an achievement pin (or coin or medallion)
What types of volunteer service qualify?
A wide variety of volunteer activities are eligible for the PVSA, including:

Working with local non-profit organizations

Assisting at community outreach events

Tutoring or mentoring younger students

Volunteering at hospitals or nursing homes

Cleaning up local parks or beaches

Participating in food drives or clothing collections

Helping to raise awareness for important causes
Activities that DO NOT qualify for the PVSA

Fundraising for personal benefit (e.g., sports teams, clubs, and youth groups)

Serving only family members
-
Court-ordered community service
-
Religious instruction
-
Political lobbying (except for non-partisan voter registration)
Tracking your hours
To help you track your volunteer hours, an NHA PVSA Service Hours Tracker Template on Google Sheets is available.

Download a copy of the template.

Continually update it with your activities and hours.

When you're ready to submit your application, print the PVSA Hour Verification form (for your records), create a PDF, and submit the PDF to the PVSA Hour Verification/Application Form.
Application deadline

All PVSA Applications and Volunteer hours must be submitted by Jan 15, 2025.

No late submissions will be accepted.

Remember, every hour you volunteer counts!
Academic Honesty
​
Integrity is essential. If you are caught misrepresenting your hours (random checks will be conducted), you will be disqualified from applying (this year and in the future).
